Please consult your IT administrator for information on establishing a network connection to the
BUS-WATCH® Mobile DVR through an existing wired or wireless network.
Alternately, a direct network connection between the host PC and a BUS-WATCH® Mobile
DVR can be established by directly connecting a network “crossover” cable between the host PC
Ethernet port and the DVR Ethernet jack. A “crossover” cable is a special type of network cable
that allows two network devices to communicate without the use of a network switch, hub, or
other network infrastructure. Note: A network “crossover” cable is not included with the BUS-
WATCH® Mobile DVR, but can be purchased from REI or at various local and online computer
hardware suppliers, if required.
For a direct connection to the DVR, connect the DVR to the host PC Ethernet port using a
crossover cable as shown:

BUS-WATCH® Mobile DVR Crossover Cable Connection Diagram
To view video on a network connected BUS-WATCH® Mobile DVR, set the video source for
the BUS-WATCH® Play back application accordingly by clicking the Remote DVR button.
Upon selecting Remote DVR as a source, the Select Server dialog box will appear to allow
selection of the target DVR.
